Who are we?

We are bunny shelter located in Krakow, Poland. We are part of association that has a few locations in Poland and its name's Stowarzyszenie Pomocy Królikom which means Association of Helping Bunnies to be exact ;)

How do bunnies get to Uszata Przystań?

They are given away by their owners/they are abandoned by their owners and need to be caught running on the streets etc/ their owners pass away and their families can't give them the life they deserve/ other locations don't have enough space for the ones that are on the way to them/ they are taken from the place that's being intervented - e.g. somebody called the place keep bunnies in bad conditons like not having water, food and being kept in small cages

What happens when a bunny gets to Uszata Przystań?

Depending on their weight and breed they are being located in the big cage or bigger playpen. They are taken to the vet as soon as possible and it's the one that especially works with bunnies and know them the best. Usually around 90% of bunnies come with some bacterias or viruses that need to be taken care of so they automatically get on the quarantine which means they're not allowed to the playpen through the day -> during volunteers' shifts they are taken to bigger playpens so they can run and play on bigger spaces, but they need to be under supervision because they love to escape which can be dangerous because they can attack other bunnies.

All of our residents are being neutered and vaccinated.

If it comes to food: they have hay 24/7, morning: they get some dried herbs with grain-free pellets; evening: that's the time for fresh fruits, vegetables and dill and parsley. The water they get in the bowl.
