Nazywam sie Mohan Pugalenthi. Pochodzę z małej wioski na południu Indii. Aktualnie jestem studentem malarstwa i rysunku na Uniwersytecie Artystycznym w Poznaniu (UAP).
Moja artystyczna podróż rozpoczęła się 10 lat temu, kiedy to po raz pierwszy, na Święta Bożego Narodzenia pojechałem odwiedzić moich polskich patronów do Singapuru. Dostałem wówczas w prezencie kredki i blok rysunkowy. Ten prezent zmienił moje życie i pozwolił odkryć i poświecić się mojej życiowej pasji.
Dzięki wsparciu moich patronów zostałem przyjęty do szkoły z artystycznym profilem w Chennai, a potem na specjalny program do szkoly w Genewie, który pozwolił mi ukończyć maturę z ukierunkowaniem na sztukę i projektowanie. Kolejnym etapem była Polska i przyjęcie na Uniwersytet Artystyczny w Poznaniu.
Każda z tych instytucji miała fenomenalny wpływ na mój rozwój artystyczny. Co więcej, możliwość życia w Indiach, Szwajcarii i Polsce, międzynarodowy kontekst mojej szkoły i studiów pozwoliły mi poznać inne kultury i dostrzec łączący je element – człowieka, w jego fizycznym i duchowym wymiarze.
Moje doświadczenia znajdują odzwierciedlenie w sztuce, którą tworzę. Rysuje portrety ludzi, których spotykam. W rysowanych sylwetkach staram się oddać ruch i tętno życia bardziej aniżeli tylko kształty. W moich abstrakcyjnych pracach inspirowanych konceptem życia pozaziemskiego, tworzę portrety bez twarzy, koncentrując się na emocjonalnym doświadczeniu odbiorcy i pozostawiając przestrzeń do szerokiej ich interpretacji.
Spośród różnych technik jakie wykorzystuje, użycie kreski sprawia mi największą satysfakcję. Ten specyficzny sposób rysunku pozwala skupić uwagę odbiorcy nie tylko na samym portrecie bądź sylwetce, ale też na szczegółach, które go tworzą.
Moja sztuka rozwinęła się dzięki wsparciu ludzi dobrej woli i moich patronów. Wierzę, ze spotkam ich więcej na mojej drodze życia. Byłbym ci wdzięczny, gdybyś mógł rozważyć swój patronat i wesprzeć mój rozwój artystyczny, abym dzięki mojej sztuce w równie pozytywny sposób wpływał na życie innych.
My name is Mohan Pugalenthi. I come from a small village in the south of India. I am currently a student of painting and drawing at the University of Arts in Poznań (UAP).
My artistic journey began 10 years ago, when for the first time, for Christmas, I went to visit my Polish patrons in Singapore and was given a gift of crayons and a drawing pad. This gift changed my life and allowed me to discover and devote myself to my passion for art.
With the support of my patrons, I was admitted to a school with an artistic profile in Chennai, and subsequently to a special art program at the school in Geneva, which allowed me to complete my high school diploma with a focus on art and design. The next stage was Poland and admission to the University of Arts in Poznań.
Each of these institutions had a phenomenal impact on my artistic development. What's more, the possibility of living in India, Switzerland and Poland, the international context of my school and studies allowed me to get to know other cultures and see the element that connects them - humanity in its physical and spiritual dimension.
My experiences have been reflected in the art I create. In the portraits or silhouettes I draw, I try to convey movement and the pulse of life more than just shapes. In my abstract works inspired by the concept of extraterrestrial life, I create faceless portraits, focusing on the emotional experience of the recipient and leave room for their broad interpretation.
Among the various techniques I apply, the use of lines gives me the greatest satisfaction. This specific way of drawing allows the viewer to focus not only on the portrait or silhouette itself, but also on the details that make it up.
My art developed thanks to the support of people of good will and my patrons. I believe that I will meet more of them as my artistic journey continues.
