Pod koniec II wieku p.n.e. dwa plemiona, Teutonów i Cymbrów, podjęły wędrówkę ku granicom republiki rzymskiej, hegemona świata śródziemnomorskiego. Kolejne klęski poniesione przez Rzymian i wtargnięcie barbarzyńców do Italii obnażyły słabość wewnętrzną republiki.

Europe is part of “Western civilisation”, to which, apart from Europe itself, it is customary to include all its (regrettably, usually evolved as a result of rape) “children”: primarily North America, with the United States as a global power, and Latin America, with Brazil growing in importance in the global puzzle, as well as the area of Australia and Oceania.

The first anti-utopia was written in 1920 in the Soviet Russia by Evgeni Zamyatin. In Russia, the novel was published only in 1988, and the reaction in Soviet Russia in the 20s was outrage, forcing Zamyatin to leave the country.

Egypt in the Russian agenda plays the most important role for the Middle East and Africa, and the cooperation seems to be increasing in 2021. During the Cold War, Egypt was the most precious diamond in the Middle East for Moscow. It was lost after the death of Nasser and the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and finally in 1978 when the Camp David Accords were signed. Since then, Moscow has had to be satisfied in the company of the marginal regimes in Syria and Libya. Only in recent decades has the situation significantly changed due to the geopolitical events in 2011, the Arab Spring, and its titanic implications to the region.

On 4th January 2010, the Burj Khalifa opened in Dubai. At 828 metres, it was the world’s tallest building. In fact, all of the world’s seven-tallest buildings were now located in Asia: Taipei 101 (508 metres, 2004); World Financial Center, Shanghai (492 metres, 2008); International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong (484 metres, 2010); Petronas Towers 1 and 2, Kuala Lumpur (452 metres, 1998); and Zifeng Tower, Nanjing (450 metres, 2010). “We are entering a completely new era of world history,” said Kishore Mahbubani at a lecture at the St. Gallen Symposium. “You’re seeing the end of what I call Western domination of world history but I hasten to add that the end of Western domination of world history is not the end of the West.
